Chemokit™: Healing and preventing mouth ulcers caused by Oral Mucositis (OM).
OM is a severe adverse reaction to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which peels off the oral mucosa, causing unbearable pain and oral dysfunction. Chemokit will be provided to cancer and bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients as part of an overall medical regime — as a healing and preventive treatment for OM.

Chemokit contains Sucralfate, an active pharmaceutical ingredient, which balances the electrical resistance of the mucosal tissue and directly binds to proteins of the ulcerated oral mucosa for 6-8 hours, creating a long-lasting protective barrier. Sucralfate is not absorbed into the bloodstream and has practically no adverse reactions.
Currently, there are no effective therapies which reduce the incidence, severity, or duration of OM. Current treatment varies from placing ice cubes in the mouth to IV treatments utilizing Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF). Patients are given high doses of narcotic pain killers which ease the pain, without bringing about healing. In some cases, cancer therapy has to be ceased because of severe OM, thereby jeopardizing the patients' lives.
Chemokit enables continuous treatments for cancer and BMT patients, thereby increasing survival rates.
